Night moves inside itself–
closes, hidden,
expanding, letting go–
suddenly singing
Closes, hidden,
opens again, opens
suddenly singing
infinity
Opens again, opens
an interstice–
infinity
trying to fly—
An interstice
spiraling out of its shell,
trying to fly
into the stars
Spiraling out of its shell,
a nomad rising
into the stars,
painting the sky
a nomad, rising,
expanding, letting go–
painting the sky,
night moves inside itself
For Sue Vincent’s photo prompt, above.
I haven’t written a pantoum in awhile.
There is an energy to your poem and paintings that makes me want to get up from the computer and go and do something creative. I think I’ll follow it. 🙂

Magnificent, Kerfe. The pantoum reads almsot like an invocation… and the painting is perfect. The colours just beautifully captured. I love this.

Beautiful. The poem is a wave of movement, and the painting is like a night animal curling around the risinf sun.

Thanks Jane. The pantoum is a good form for water. And the photo is perfect for watercolor.

This is beautiful, Kerfe. I love the circling of movement, time and light flowing and circling around–the birth of a star or a universe. . .your art gives the same feeling.

Thanks Merril. The pantoum always seems to make a circle. And of course my art has been stuck there for some time…

The short lines work very well here, maintaining a tight focus.
The art is spectacular.
