blue volcanic dust
scattered over surfaces
solid liquid
forged in chaos
invisible with stillness
Tranquility!–
do cosmic naiads
sing starsongs
dancing spells to quell
the human stain
of those metallic beasts
who came without
invitation?
hollow words echo
breaking ancient silences
begun before time
A quadrille for dVerse. Lillian has provided the word tranquility.
A word that always makes me think of the moon. And I was dreaming the other night of naiads, dancing.
Brilliant! There is more than a whisper of the Oracle in this one. Just lovely.

Your collage is so interesting, Kerfe. The reaching hand really connects the whole piece. Must have been a wonderful dream. 🙂

It was. A lovely gift.
I saw the hand in an ad in a magazine and knew I had to fit it in somehow.

Loving this unique take on the Sea of Tranquility and Apollo 11. Most especially the last two stanzas.

Thanks Lillian. Many seem to have headed to the moon with your word!

I really can imagine the brief burst of humans in such a tranquil world… may it remain a tranquil place.

I like the idea of cosmic naiads. And the moon in your artwork is mysterious and elegant. Remote.

Thanks Claudia. No idea where the naiads came from, but take it and run with it I say. I was going to paint the moon, but I realized collage fit the poem better. I like the idea of the moon being elegant too. It’s always mysterious.

It made me think of that full moon walk I went on a week or two ago. I am still carrying that feeling in my mind.

Cosmic naiads singing star songs of time, through time, beyond time. I love this–and your collage is wonderful, too. And I agree with Jane about the Oracle whispering here.

Thanks Merrill. We are always reaching for the stars–both literally and figuratively. The Oracle knows.
