Thanks Jane. My neighbor’s cats used to hang out on my deck, but I have neither neighbor nor deck any more. The feral cats where I live now won’t even stay still most of the time to have their photo taken.

This small town has scores of feral cats, abandoned presents for kids who’d rather have a new computer game. Only one of them seems to have made her way out here though. She seems to thrive on it, but won’t let anyone within fifty yards.

People put their cats out when they move. That’s how my old neighbor got all her cats–they had clearly belonged to someone. And they showed up in her yard.

That’s where I guess Raymond and Branwell came from. Our mad cat lady in Bordeaux who had collected more than forty strays dumped them all when she moved/was moved out.
