I’ve been doing some postcards in combination with the Collage Box and its Oracle. For this one, I took a postcard of Van Gogh’s “The Seine with the Pont de la Grande Jutte” and added a few elements and a poem.
constructed out of
the shadows–transparent soul–
my body here undone

That’s such a cool idea!

Thanks. I’ve given and received them in the past and decided to revisit the idea. There is lots of postcard art about.

The body undone is part of such a beautiful whole. Maybe that’s how we should always look on ourselves.

I like the idea of merging with the landscape.

If we could all do that we might understand how this world was intended to function.

That poem could possibly describe van Gogh–and maybe all of us.

Thanks Meril, I like that interpretation. The painting does contain many layers of presence I think.

Thanks Ken. The natural world looks out for us if we allow it to.

You’ve given me the desire to do this with some old postcards I’ve been holding onto. I love how yours turned out and the poem.

Thanks Charlotte. I got the idea from Marcy Erb, who was one of the first bloggers I connected with on WordPress, and who encouraged my writing as well as my art (Nina and I started with an art blog). She’s offline now, but we recently began exchanging postcards again, and I’m enjoying it.
