eyes
open–
glowing with
intensity,
silent beneath trees,
starborne—facing skysongs
rearranging the distance
with colored light—no one knows when
or what comes before ever after

I like this imagery, Kerfe. One of my favourites of yours. I like your painting too. The colours are gorgeous an the hint of obscurity, mysterious.

Thanks Robbie. A beautiful sky as inspiration. Nature provides the best color combinations.

Gorgeous artwork. It takes the photo and sets it alight. No one knows what comes after, or what the ever after is. Despite that they say.

So true. I was just at a funeral today where the rabbi admitted as much. He said she would definitely live in our memories, that’s all he knew for sure. (K)

Refreshing to hear uncertainty from a religious leader. Usually they know everything about everything and more besides.

It was refreshing. You can provide comfort without platitudes.

I tend not to expect that kind of sensitivity from religious people.

Stunning art. and the words that go with it. It’s funny, I just wrote a poem (not posted) that also used the word “luminosity.” I like the sound of it.

Wonderful effect with the art, Kerfe.
If only we could take the future and return it, arranged so that there is light before us and never darkness.

Thanks Ken. If only we could really learn to just be present…

The color in your art reminds me of a sunset, but also of an active volcano. Maybe both metaphors for this time of change? Take care, my friend.

I think you could interpret the photo both ways. Certainly the responses to Sue’s prompt reflected both. The changes are standing on the edge.
