Minus the third.

Higher education is a rather long-term project. To get an engineering or economic specialty, you need to study for 5 years, doctors learn even more.

Education, as a rule, takes place during a person’s life, during which mental and physical abilities are at the peak of their development. In five years, an adequate person can achieve a lot, learn, gain life experience. Often you can meet young specialists who, by the time they graduate from high school, have practically begun life from scratch. They do not have their own housing, family, or ties. And their more “uneducated” peers are already quite firmly on their feet.

Minus fourth.

It has long been the case that office work, although it was considered more prestigious, was mostly paid less than working specialties. Yes, the work of the worker is physically difficult. But, working in the workshop at the machine tool, many receive significantly more than their colleagues in the “office”. The average engineer needs to work at least 8-10 years to get into a managerial position and get a decent salary. These are the realities of the post-Soviet space.
