beginnings fall in
to ends—threads of song braided
into rainbowed clouds
light and form cascade, flying
in tandem—mist layered sky
For Frank Tassone’s Haikai Challenge #149, waterfall, and inspired by Ken Gierke’s wonderful photos of Niagara Falls.
All the elements and all the senses are woven in this. Gorgeous!

Wow. You’ve perfectly captured the urgent colors of Ken’s once-in-a-lifetime photo. And the braided songs… Aside from volcanos, there’s no music on earth older than falling water, is there? A fear of over-touristedness has kept me from Niagara, but now I want to see it for myself.

Thanks Sun. They are such magical photos. I haven’t been to Niagara since I was a small child, but it does seem to merit another visit.

Beautiful words and art. I see water churning in your art, both below the surface and above it as it dances with a rainbow.
