For Frank Tassone’s #haikai challenge 151, autumn storm/darkness. I wanted a much gentler vision, but the Oracle was having no part of it.
delirious sleep
pounding its raw grey stormchant
wind language dreaming
mad with shadows whispering
in a momentary light
I can relate – I have nights like that sometimes too at the moment.
That wind dreaming in a raw grey storm chant sounds all too familiar. I love the creative flow of your words here. I’m sure they’ll replay in my head one night when the wind is up here.

Thanks Suzanne. I do think the nights have become much stranger.

Very much so. There’s a lot of the collective unconscious swirling around I think.

There has been lots of wind dreaming lately and whispering shadows–it’s good to know they’re also whispering “in momentary light.” That sounds hopeful. The Oracle always knows!

Thanks Merril. The light is always there somewhere.

‘raw grey stormchant’ I can see that in real and in your painting. I see the crows too, whether they are part of it or shouting against it, I can’t tell.

I think crows are always both/and.

Wherever there’s a fight, anyway, they’ll be there.
