I’ve borrowed this birdlings collage from the archives to illustrate Frank Tassone’s #Haikai Challenge this week, autumn/spring equinox.
I haven’t seen the birdlings since my previous move–they may be in storage. But they are always here in spirit.
Enfolding is one of your watchwords. It’s the antithesis of birdling flying, yet nothing enfolds more tenderly than wings.

Thanks Jane. That is true. Wings are needed right now in all manifestations.

There’s something tender about that last stanza–the light and enfolding.
Urge for Going is the song I think of for the fall–though I’m not quite feeling it yet, even though it’s chilly.

The world needs tenderness right now I think.
I agree, it doesn’t look like fall yet, but I feel it.

Brilliant haiku sequence to highlight the two equinoxes on opposite sides of the planet! The collage is brilliant! I’ve missed your art. Welcome back! ❤

I agree… but I think we find inspiration in the changing of all seasons. ❤

I love your birdies at the crossroads. I feel happy when I see them. Joni serenading gives them lift ❤

Thanks Jade. I’m sure they’re in storage or I would be giving them new landscapes to explore. Something to look forward to.

P.S. just remembered this is a G Lightfoot song which makes it twice as perfect.

Oops wrong, written by Joni but covered not by G but by Tom Rush. Similar but not the same. Double perfect nonetheless.

I do like that Tom Rush version too. Probably the first one I heard actually. And yes, a perfect Gordon Lightfoot song as well.
