who are we?
questions flood the sky–
who replies?
chaos then stillness–
watching from inside the storm,
searching for answers
The whole world’s watching.
For Frank Tassone’s weekly challenge.
This is what happens when Americans demonstrate for peace…
You are watching from inside the storm and you have such a different perspective from the rest of the world. We can snigger at Trump and his slide from grace but we haven’t had to live with him and what he represents.
I love the painting, like egrets flying through a sky that can’t decide if it’s storm or just exuberance.

Thanks Jane. I am so longing for a release of the tension of the last 4 years, but I don’t think it’s coming any time soon. It’s definitely a between time. I just hope we don’t get stuck inside.

There’s going to be a lot of wary circling going on I’d imagine, sizing up. If the Trump clique could be got rid of ignominiously it might help.

My brother thinks they will be battered with lawsuits once Trump leaves office. Hopefully some will stick. If nothing else, they will spend a lot of their ill-gotten money on lawyers.

Ill-gotten lawyers for ill-gotten crooks. As long as the publicity dries up.

Yes, that’s key.

I really like this–the two questions: who are we and who replies? This country is such a myriad of voices–and it seems they’re all shouting right now. And yes, the whole world is watching.
I love the painting, too. The colors are so beautiful, and there’s definitely a sense of motion. As Jane says, it could be storm or exuberance.

Thanks Merril. We need to decide, although I’m not sure this is the optimal method. It does seem to be both/and, doesn’t it?

Democracy turns out to be a very frsgile thing that needs to be nurtured and protected. Our Federsl Govt here in Australia supports Trump. What happens next in the US will have an impact here. We watch carefully.

Who we are is a good question, Kerfe. We shall find out over the coming years. Such a sad question to have to ask.
