become empty—o
pen yourself until the wind
fills you to zero
draw yourself in circles, hold
your essence out, listening

For the final day of NaPoWriMo, the prompt is to write a poem in the form of a series of directions describing how a person should get to a particular place.
Thanks to Maureen Thorson for once again providing a home for poetry and for all those who read and commented on my efforts this April.

I like how you can read the line o pen yourself or open yourself
and the way pen and drawing fit together in the circling, questioning, listening.

Thanks Merril. Fitting to end with a circle I think.

Ahh, K., I love this song! And poem too. To leave the line at ‘o’ and continue ‘pen yourself’ is a strike of genius. Thank you for your company this month.

I’m thinking deeply into this. Beautifully mysterious. I’d like to know your particular message in this though. 🙏🏾

Thanks Jude. I always t hink the reader puts as much into the poem as the poet. We all have our own ways of centering.

Hehe, I’m just asking because I’m not quite centred yet with this one.
