Poem up at the Ekphrastic Review

My poem, auguries, based on the painting Us, by Ismael Nery, is posted today on The Ekphrastic Review.

You can read the poem here.

My thanks once again to editor Lorette C. Luzajic for supporting my work and the interaction between the visual and written arts.

  1. Congratulations, Kerfe. It sounds like she received many more responses than she expected. It is a fascinating image. I like your poem, and as Jane said, it is instantly recognizable as yours–auguries and crow’s shadow. Excellent!

  2. Congratulations on another well-deserved publication! These lines really struck me:
    ‘the pulse of transformation
    inverse alchemy’
perhaps because of what is going on in my body right now.

  3. Amazing; mazal tov! It’s so… dark…! I know I would have had tremendous difficulty getting into the mindset I would have needed to write something suitable. You’re an artist, Kerfe.

  4. there is something here without weight, yet full of volume – but not a balloon, which has no substance – an ether which is outlined in each couplet ~
