The Oracle is feeling the chill in the air. This morning is grey and cooler than recent days.
The collage is another piece of art I found while cleaning. Painted and ripped rice paper–I guess I didn’t like the original watercolors. I don’t remember it at all.

wind rustles secrets through trees–
how my roots long for
a blanket with leaves seeded
by a moon garden
every season asks us why
we follow the same
path of lonely wandering
instead of singing
We had very similar messages, especially in the second stanza (my third)/

The message fits well with the changing season.

Yes. Change that means a decline is perceived as a risk, or at best, something we don’t really want. For those who don’t have a roof and central heating, it means getting close to death.

I like your collaboration. The Oracle dressed your images with the right words for you to join them.

I really like how trees and leaves rhymes in the first stanza, pauses, then continues. The second stanza really hits home. Why indeed?

As Ella said, the only thing better than singing is more singing.

Such a beautiful poem from the Oracle. I really love this.
It’s funny how your second stanza asks why we don’t sing, and mine has us listening for the music to carry us home.

your use of rice paper and the word ‘rustles’ go very nicely together in my head, Kerfe 😀

The paper must have been speaking to me…

I love your rice paper art, at first glance I thought it was a ‘salad’ … but then your rustles and leaves opened other possibilities. Raising our voices together sounds more healing than the loneliness so many have struggled with …

Thanks Kate, yes that’s true.

That’s a poignant question you end with! I love that you can completely forget a piece of art, then rediscover it!
