I had just finished this monostich postcard when I saw Ingrid’s prompt at dVerse for a poem about a member of the Corvid family. I’ve written drawn painted and collaged many times about crow–not just here, but on memadtwo as well.
My word collage postcards are not always monostich, but many of them are.

That’s an old one, above, entitled, “Crow Says…”, inspired by Van Gogh.
And here’s a recent one done in Poetry Partnership with David, at The Skeptic’s Kaddish. This one is an American Sentence.

Without crow, the enchanted is always uncertain.
Love these Kerfe! I am drawn to crows/ravens/rooks, almost as much as I am drawn to the moon. I don’t know why, but they resonate otherworldly for me.

I think my idea of ravens became spiritual at Yellowstone when I saw a raven on the garbage can gobble like a turkey. It was so strange.

They are mysterious, no doubt about it.

I agree Rob. The moon is an apt partner I think.

Kerfe, one of the things we are learning in dream group is how puns play into meaning. With that in mind I am looking at the word crow and seeing one way of wordplay is “see (ou)r ow.” With raven, you can make “Ra (sun god) ven (sees.)” Just playing around but both would fit…

Crow is full of riddles for sure.

That is a great American sentence. There is something mystical about crows. I feel like they are travelers between the worlds and bring messages from the other side.

I think that’s correct. Thanks!

Blogger is not letting me sign in to comment on your post, but I too enjoy the local blue jays. They can get quite loud!
