Look further on ahead, there between truth and falsehood, a little empty space.
–Amrita Pritam
This house has
no walls—it emits no
sound, gathers no surroundings from the
air. It is this: a place to hesitate before
beginning. It constantly seeks out
less and less and still less,
a story
compressed in
side an ordering of
emptiness, a letting of going,
a happening of what and is not. Unfurnished,
it decorates its absence without
any punctuation.
Unsentenced.

Punam introduced us at dVerse to poet Amrita Pritam and gave us a selection of poetic lines to use as inspiration. I’ve written a triquain.
Kerfe, you’ve articulated, “a little empty space” in a way that gives it life.
P.S. I got your crow card yesterday in the post. You brought joy to my day with it. Thank you ❤

Thanks Jade–I felt like that card was calling you.
I’ve got to start on my PoPo cards soon.

You are welcome. I am joining a group about the 13 original Clan Mothers and will be creating some collage/art on them. It may be this years motif for the PoPo also. I need to stop stalling and pull out the art supplies again!

That sounds great.
I keep getting distracted, but the postcards need to go up on the list.

A perfect description in verse and image.
I almost picked that line, too.

That emptiness grows and overcomes everything. The absence is felt.

“A place to hesitate before beginning” holds so much anxious energy. Somehow I think of the Twos in the Minor Arcana.

I’m not that familiar with most of the Minor Arcana, but it makes sense. And I know all about anxious energy.

Asylum, what an odd word, isn’t it. Unwelcome of a sort, yet welcome too. Can’t explain but unsure if the title fits the poem itself (which is by any measure – wonderfully inspired – it is). Could near bring a tear for beauty’s sake. One more of yours to save and hope I have the good fortune to recall and read again, again.
