how I wish to stay
lost inside the fragments of
this dream—I collect
and bind them as antidote
to despair—is it
a fault to hold on, veil my
true form in a cloak
adorned with gaudy trinkets?–
I glitter like shifting time

For dVerse, where Mish has supplied shift as the quadrille-word.
Amazing collages and the words fit perfectly!! (I do have to say that the big spider creeps me out but I can’t look away!)

Thanks Muri. I mostly like spiders but not huge furry ones.

Well done. I like this;;; I collectand bind them as antidote. I think we do this with past memories as well.

Both wonderful collections of items, one a distinct shift away from the other.

Thanks Jade. I did these a few years ago, and just rediscovered them. I meant to do a whole series. Another task for The List. (K)

No, it is not. “Glittering like shifting time” sounds hopeful. Awesome collages.

I was having dreams last night that I wanted to stay in. Your collages have that fragmented but connected feel of dreams.

Thanks Merril. Sometimes I can’t even remember the dreams, but the atmosphere lingers.

Perhaps we all veil our true form because we struggle to recognise our inner beauty!

I love this poem. It can be read in different ways… it’s all subterfuge, isn’t it? Powerful collages too, they mirror the yearning of the poem.

Wonderful quadrille K. Sometimes we don’t want to wake from our dreams and I certainly understand the cloak to hide behind. ❤️

I think most of us do that. Whether or not it’s a fault, I don’t know. But it’s human.
That last line is wonderful!

The cloak of dreams definitely gets a lot of use in my wardrobe. And both of these collages would make a magnificent Moon in a tarot deck!

Thanks Sun. They are Moon Totems, at least that was my idea, so it makes sense they would work for a Moon card. I never made my Chariot. It’s in a pile with a lot of other things. There’s just too little time…

Hi Kerfe, my view is that you need to do whatever is necessary to keep going forward with an attitude of happiness and hope.

a cloak of dreams is sometimes a map showing a path to the heart’s (true) desire

I think that’s true, if only symbolically.
