blues transpose
against each other,
broken into
patterns, as
threads barely stitched into air
become one with sky—
a shadow
rests lightly, almost
unnoticed–
awaiting
disturbances in the web–
summoning futures,
the castings
of circumstances–
eyes glinting
like mirrored
kismetic intersections
of orbiting moons

A shadroma quadrille for dVerse, where Merril has given us the word mirror.
“mirrored kismetic intersections” now is that cool or what. And your art is just perfect with it.

First spiders are arriving now. We’re friends, but carefully. Why do we suppose we’re uncomfortable about spiders? There are others far more dangerous. Nice web.

I love how you managed a dreamy flow of shadorma for a quadrille!
So beautiful, blue and threads, but the final stanza is stunning!

Thanks Colleen. I once had an idea to do a wall of spiderwebs. I did four, but I have no place to hang them in this apartment.

Oh that would have been fun. I love the webs. They remind me of my thread crochet worked in a round design.

Of all the patterns in nature I respond to, nothing quite packs the wonder of a web. Like your shadorma, your first embroidery seems to capture the light as if through water droplets. I love your tiny cosmic weaver as well. Something mischievously Anansi-like about those eyes!

Thanks Sun. A spider’s web is a miracle, every one of them. And we can never forget a spider’s trickster façade.
